First grade
Your first graders will have the opportunity to meet ALL of the grade level's California State P.E. Standards through the F.U.E.L. program, including these "key" standards:

Changes speed/direction when using different combinations of shapes, levels, pathways, directions and tempos ( 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4)

Create or imitate movement in response to rhythms and music ( 1.22)

Demonstrate throwing (underhand, overhand, 2-hands) ( 1.10, 1.11, 1.12)

Demonstrate catching (self-toss and from a partner) (1.13, 1.14, 1.15)

Demonstrate kicking (stationary and gently rolled) (1.16, 1.17)

Demonstrate dribbling (with hand and foot) (1.20, 1.21)

Understand the concept of directional movements (2.1)

Stretch arms, shoulders, back and legs without hyperflexing or hyperextending the joints ( 3.6)

Participate 3-4 times each week in continuous movement for increasing periods of time during moderate to vigorous physical activity (3.2, 3.7)

Identifies and uses 2 indicators of increased capacity for vigorous physical activity to measure a change in activity levels (3.8)

Explains the importance of drinking water during and after physical activity (4.2)

Identify the body components of bones, muscles, organs, tissue and fat (4.12)
