Second Grade
Your second graders will have the opportunity to meet ALL of the grade level's California State P.E. Standards through the F.U.E.L. program, including these "key" standards:

Demonstrate smooth transitions using locomotor skills in response to music ( run, walk, leap, skip, slide) ( 1.17)

Perform rhythmic sequences related to simple folk dances solo and with a partner(1.18, 1.19)

Perform manipulative skills ( kicking a stationary/rolling ball while maintaing balance, throwing/catching/striking an object, jump with 1 and 2 feet take offs, jumping a self-turned rope) ( 1.7, 1.8, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, 1.16)

Explaining the key body elements for throwing, kicking, catching and striking an object (2.6, 2.7, 2.9, 2.11, 2.12)

Demonstrate knowledge of fitness concepts, aerobic capacity and body composition (4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.15)

Describe how muscle strength and muscle endurance enhance motor skill performance (4.9)

Participate in activities 3-4 times a week for increasing amounts of time that are enjoyable and challenging (3.1, 3.2)

Perform endurance and strength movements with abdoninal curl-ups, modified push-ups, oblique curl-ups, forward/side lunges, squats and tricep push-ups (3.3)
